Quality Pasture
Although often overlooked, a healthy pastoral herd starts with quality pasture. We are what we eat. Since our herd spends all of its time out on pasture, we spend a great deal of time, energy and expense maintaining the health and productivity of the grass. Horses digestive tracts are designed to eat small amounts of forage, continuously throughout the day.

The quality of that forage will be a major influence in the health of the heard. We believe that by sustaining the horses on well-maintained pasture, while supplementing small amounts of grain, we are creating the healthiest environment for the horses’ digestive system, leading to fewer health problems and happier animals. We put a lot of energy towards ensuring that our pastures are of the highest quality by utilizing frequent rotation protocols, fertilization, low stocking density, a proper de-worming schedule, and regular mowing.
